Shimano’s original basic structure spiral X, which enhances rod performance from the root, uses carbon tape made of high-strength resin realized by nanoalloy technology. [Spiral X] has a three-layer structure in which carbon tape is tightly wound in the opposite direction in the inner layer and outer layer of the rod longitudinal fiber. By increasing the rigidity without increasing the weight, the diagonal fibers inside and outside replace the conventional horizontal fibers. Wrap the outermost layer of the blanks in an X shape with carbon tape and further suppress distortion. Pipe-shaped structures such as rod blanks are less susceptible to torsion as the diameter is smaller for the same wall thickness and weaker as they are thicker. It is spiral X that solves both of these simultaneously. The graph below shows the relationship between the winding angle of Shimano infinity carbon tape and the collapsing rigidity and torsional rigidity, but the spiral X is a thin rod by setting the winding angle of Shimano infinity carbon tape to the optimum position of the blanks. The tip is strong against twisting, and the thick butt part has an ideal reinforced structure that resists crushing. Achieves lighter weight and higher strength than conventional designs

As you can see from the image of a straw, it is common for cylindrical structures to collapse into an ellipse when bent. The rod is also similar, and as it bends, it gradually collapses and eventually breaks down. Conventional blanks maintain their crushing rigidity at the time of bending by rolling up carbon sheets to a small thickness, but an increase in weight was inevitable. However, by using Spiral X, it is possible to design a blank that is extremely resistant to crushing, even with thin walls, and achieving a weight reduction of about 10% and strength increase of about 71% (compared to our company, failure value) for the same action.

Carbon monocoque grip (adopts high strength tip material using nano alloy technology)

It is a carbon integrally molded grip with dramatically improved weight reduction and vibration transferability by the hollow structure that eliminates unnecessary parts of the rear grip. The vibration transmitted to the tip can be transmitted without attenuating and felt more clearly. In addition, because the grip end is lighter, the inertia at the time of operation is reduced and the operation can be performed with a good response. “Poison Altima” realizes higher sensitivity by making carbon material more elastic. The clear and sharp feeling does not overlook even minor changes. The grips that can be used during casting and fighting require high strength. We succeeded in the hollow structure of integral molding while maintaining strength because it is Shimano with blanks molding technology using special core metal.
